The Alligator

I can’t tell you when I started drawing the little alligator. I find him in old journals, and in the margins of old meeting notes. He has been painted in acrylics, and watercolors, and made out of sculpey.

The Alligator plays the violin, and mountain bikes, and picks bouquets. He sings with the birds, and swims with the fish. The Alligator is on the search for connection, and community, and goodness.

I want those same things. Community. and connection. And to share goodness, and beauty, and inspiration.

It felt perfect to name this place after him. I hope it is a place where you can find those things too.

Hi there! I’m Jay,

I have loved art since I was a little kid. I love the messes, and the colors, and the textures, and the whole creative process. It’s always been a sacred place I can go to escape. A place to break the rules. And get lost. And play.

I studied art in college and worked in textile design for years.

I left corporate life and I bopped around for a bit. Went back to school, tried new things, moved to Port Townsend, and found a community I just love being a part of.

And inspiration hit. And Alligator Art Supply was brought to life.

I am excited to share this space with you. And looking forward to hearing what’s inspiring you.
